Hey, so - I'm so sorry about the lack of updates - until we got backerkit up and running I really didn't have a whole lot to say. I'm not sure how much you wanna know about the day to day of the production of the book - but I really will try to keep you more in the loop as we hit these important milestones.
Speaking of! The first one? Hit this afternoon. You should all have received your backerkit accounts! There you'll be able to pick out the items you want based on the amount you've donated to the kickstarter - and if you want more? You'll have the option to get more.
You'll also have the option to share that you backed the book - which is great! I appreciate it! But, and I know I've asked a lot of you, if it's not too much trouble, spread this link around like the plague.

This allows people who didn't back the book when we were running the campaign to pre-order a copy now. There are two people (me and the indispensable Cory Casoni) running all this right now, and it can get overwhelming to keep throwing links at people so they can throw money at me. I'm a punk at my core and all the consumerism is killing me.

So sorry for the very...long pause between updates. Right now I'm just trying to get backerkit squared away and ready for you. A lot of that requires me finalizing designs for merch and books...you know, the stuff you paid for me to make?
I've been getting a lot of really sweet (or savory? how do you say "nice" when it's nosferatu related?) messages these past couple weeks from people who thought the book was "charming" or "unique" or "a riot." Can't lie, feels great. It'll feel better when that book is in your hand.
Speaking of book...I mean, what's your feeling on tattered edges or super slick black edges? I'm paralyzed by indecision.

I'm sorry it's taken so long to post an update thanking you all for the support - honestly, it's been a lot to process (that and I'm leaving for Seattle tomorrow morning to table at Emerald City Comic Con so I've been preppin' hard).
This was a project I did because I loved it - I didn't expect other people to care about it. Almost 200 of you proved me wrong and I'm so grateful. It still doesn't feel real.
ANYWAY. Enough of my sap. You know I'm extremely thankful - now you probably want to know what will happen next.
WHAT YOU GOTTA DO
For the next few weeks? A whole lot of nothing.
Kickstarter is going to process all your cards, alert me to any problems, and then dump the money into my account. Once all that is done I'll be dishing that money out to the many printers taking care of the book, the poster, the stickers, the book plates, and the pins. That's gonna take a little while, but I'll keep you in the know with updates (including new, NOSFERATU! art and process images and photos.)
After everything is processed, you'll be getting an email from backerkit with all the details you'll need to set up an account. You'll be able to choose extra rewards there if you want to (see that add on tier? Finally! You'll be able to use it) and just in general help me streamline the process of getting the books from me to you.
For now, you just gotta sit tight.

WHAT I GOTTA DO
A whole lot. Luckily I've got a great team helping me (and some great friends helping to package everything when the time comes). I'm looking to have everything shipped to you by October (maybe, if all goes well, a little earlier).
I'm going to be drawing, designing, communicating...all the stuff I love to do and some of the stuff I hate to do. Eventually I'm gonna get a pallet of what is hopefully books and not a bunch of plague-rats and a hungry vampire dropped on my doorstep and freak out (don't worry, I'll post a video when that happens) and things will be great.
A WEEK OF SILENCE
Like I said earlier, I'm going to be traveling to ECCC this week, so there won't be any updates from me on Kickstarter until I get back. BUT! If you're in Seattle and goin' to the show? Less than 48 hours to go and another stretch goal down. That patch? It's unlocked. You can put it all over your jackets, backpacks, homes, shirts...
I am sure you're all probably tired of me thanking you over and over again, but if you had asked me a month ago if I expected this Kickstarter to succeed, much less blast it's way through 3 stretch goals, I'd have told you no way. I am truly touched by all the support, I am truly astounded by all the love for Orlok. You all really are the best.
Unfortunately, now that I've had a taste of that $8k Stretch Goal life, I want the $9k. Eh. That's not true. I want the $10K.
I want to get you another book. I want it to sit on your shelves right next to NOSFERATU! I'm not sure if $10k is possible, but I wasn't sure $5,200 was possible either and everyone here proved me real, real wrong.
